The 33 Ft LOA Contender is the boat that defined Contender Boats. It looks incredibly cool for a hull that was designed in the 1980s, but what sets the Contender apart is the speeds it can reach, its efficient operation, incredible control and its ability to rule in choppy seas. And, although we carry a maximum of 6 passengers, this Contender is easily a 14 passenger boat and there is installed seating for all 6 passengers – as well as comfortable bean bags on board.
Our Contender is equipped with marine electronics including gps navigation, sonar and radar. And, at anytime, we can find fish, navigate safely and efficiently and, in low visibility, be aware of nearby obstructions or bad weather.
This Open Concept boat was designed with a deep-V hull sporting a sharp entry and a 24.5-degree deadrise aft and the dual strakes provide lift for a quick, stable plane and economical operation. Then, for slow speed or at rest stability, this hull is equipped with wide reverse chines aft. The flared bow controls spray for a drier ride.
The 9-foot, 4-inch beam allows fish fighting access around the wide center console which contains the private, electric flush toilet. An oversized Tee Top keeps the sun at bay and stores rods as well as electronics
More importantly, the Contender is a fishing machine. With a single level deck from stern to bow, taking a 300 lb swordfish or 100 lb wahoo around the boat multiple times is rather easy. And, with all the storage under the floor, there is a huge area both forward and aft for installed seating, fishing fighting or comfortably spaced bean bags for a the fast, quick ride. The bow hand rails are recessed and long enough to provide a secure hold when moving about.
